Job Description
Key Job Functions and Duties:
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
- Develop processes for optimizing database security.
- Set and maintain database standards.
- Manage database access.
- Performance tuning of database systems.
- Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
- Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
- Create automation for repeating database tasks.
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
General skills:
- Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
- Design and implement database in accordance to end user’s information requirements
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
- Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
Minimum Qualifications
Desired Experience & Qualities
- Deep experience in database administration in a Windows enterprise environment
- Experience in Oracle Enterprise version 12c.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2008+.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on database and spreadsheet applications.
- Work effectively with System Administrators/Engineers, DBA’s, Programmers, Project Managers, Business Representatives, Vendors and/or Analysts to complete tasks in timely manner.
