Job Description
- The Buyer I is responsible for sourcing and procurement of supplies, equipment and service for all requestors and related functions located in healthcare facilities in the United States.
- The position is accountable for processing purchase orders, confirming appropriate approval, and following up on open purchase orders and vendor discrepancies.
- The Buyer I ensures accuracy of purchase and vendor/supply data while complying with Tenet and healthcare-specific policies, including maintaining logging, filing, and source documents.
- The position routinely communicates upstream and downstream with suppliers and customers, respectively, to validate the information and finalize business transactions.
- The position performs follow-up and expediting of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in on of the follow areas: business, supply chain, materials management or other related courses.
- At least 1 year of buyer / purchasing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be ammenable to work onsite and on a night shift work schedule
