UpCounting was founded by Abir, Max, and Jonathan: three friends who started their careers at EY on the very same day.  Three friends who, many years later, would come together to build UpCounting. 

While our careers took very different paths, we all began to notice something at the accounting firms we worked for. They weren’t focused on maximizing value for clients. They didn’t prioritize growth.

We knew there was an opportunity to build a service that felt very different to work with for clients… one where their accountants really understood and cared about their businesses and their goals. That’s what we set out to create with UpCounting— a modern, growth-focused accounting firm.

Since then, UpCounting has evolved into a comprehensive solution for DTC brands, delivering expertise in ecommerce, marketing, accounting, financial modeling, and taxes.

What You’ll Be Doing

<ul>
	<li>Manage and mentor a team of Accountants to deliver accurate, timely, high-quality work.</li>
	<li>Full-Cycle Accounting Oversight: Review reconciliations, financial reports, and month-end close deliverables across multiple client files.</li>
	<li>Ensure UpCounting’s accounting processes are followed consistently and improve them where needed.</li>
	<li>Help clients understand their numbers, communicate insights clearly, and ensure smooth financial operations.</li>
	<li>Identify automation opportunities and contribute to scalable, efficient workflows alongside Controllers and senior leadership.</li>
</ul>

What You Bring

<ul>
	<li>5+ years of experience in accounting management, ideally within a firm or multi-client environment.</li>
	<li>High proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero (NetSuite is a bonus).</li>
	<li>Excellent communication and leadership skills.</li>
	<li>Strong technical foundation across full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and month-end processes.</li>
	<li>Comfortable using automation tools and improving processes.</li>
	<li>FP&amp;A or financial modeling experience is an asset.</li>
	<li>A calm, structured leadership style — you bring clarity without micromanagement.</li>

	You’ll be managing client files, team rhythms, and weekly deliverables. You’ll be leading your team through core processes, learning the review system end-to-end, and begin shaping how we operate.</li>

	You’ll fully own your portfolio of accountants and clients—setting priorities, supporting performance, ensuring high-quality delivery, and improving workflows.</li>
