Deskripsi Pekerjaan
The role of Paralegal is to provide dedicated support to Office of the General Counsel in terms of monitoring the Company’s statutory compliance requirements, general corporate housekeeping, drafting of letters and pleadings (when necessary), liaise with government agencies and attending to other legal related matters (see detailed role description below).
Reporting
The position will report to the members of the Office of the General Counsel and the Senior Legal Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Paralegal shall be dedicated to support the Office of the General Counsel in terms of monitoring of the Company’s statutory compliance requirements, general corporate housekeeping, drafting of letters and pleadings (when necessary), liaise with government agencies and attend to other legal related matters. Some specific responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring statutory compliance requirements under the direct supervision members of the Office of the General Counsel;
- Submission of compliance requirements to appropriate government agencies;
- Maintain a work calendar for the monitoring of submissions of compliance requirements, meetings or deadlines;
- Acting as liaison officer to different government agencies (i.e. LGU, PEZA, BIR, SEC);
- Conduct legal research,Preparing and drafting letters or other forms of communication, legal documents, pleadings, motions, and other papers involving legal matters;
- Other responsibilities not listed here but reasonably assumed to be a function of the Paralegal’s position/role.
Kualifikasi Minimum
- Bachelor’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree in Law related courses is preferred but not necessary
- 1-2 years work experience, experience as Paralegal or Legal Assistance is an advantage;
- Familiarity with, and a working knowledge of, key government organizations such as PEZA, BIR, SEC and LGUs will be essential.
- Experience with the role of company secretary or secretary to a board or other governance bodies will be valuable, but not essential.
- Good organizational qualities, including working with IT tools.
- An eye for detail and thoroughness in your work.
- A consciousness of confidentiality and professional secrecy considerations an open, objective, practical and accommodating approach in dealing with various counterparts (partners, department heads, government agencies)
- A sense of responsibility: you have a proactive approach and are able to meet commitments.
- A client-oriented attitude and a team player
- Maturity and versatility to take charge of both administrative and legal aspects
- Willing to accept a 6-months contract.
