Purchasing Head of Garments Company  

Job Summary: The Purchasing Head is responsible for managing the procurement and sourcing functions within the company. This includes developing and implementing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and components for garment production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement:
   • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
   • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
2. Vendor Selection and Management:
   • Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, price, reliability, and lead times.
   • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing suppliers while continuously seeking new potential partners.
   • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the company.
3. Cost Management:
   • Monitor and analyze market trends to optimize costs and maintain competitiveness.
   • Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or compliance.
4. Inventory Management:
   • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
   • Implement efficient inventory control measures to reduce carrying costs.
5. Quality Control:
   • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased materials meet required quality standards.
   • Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
   • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the procurement process.
   • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and documentation.
7. Team Leadership:
   • Lead and mentor the Purchasing Department, providing guidance and direction.
   • Ensure the team's performance meets or exceeds expectations.
8. Budget Management:
   • Develop and manage the department's budget, controlling expenses effectively.
9. Risk Management:
   • Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies.
   • Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
• Several years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the garment industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of garment production processes and materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• This is a work-on-site (work at the office)
