Backend Developer

We are searching for an exceptional candidate with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience to join us as a Senior Backend Developer. As the Senior Backend Developer, we expect you to possess top-notch coding skills and the ability to lead, train, and inspire your team. You’ll play a crucial role in guiding the team toward success, ensuring high-quality code and efficient project delivery.

In addition, you will have frequent and direct contact with clients from all over the world, so it’s important that your English proficiency is up to par. Effective communication will be key to understanding client requirements and delivering exceptional service.

Duties of the Job

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture - your primary responsibility will be to develop, optimize and maintain server-side code and APIs that power up software and services. This involves writing efficient, scalable and secure code that meets the project requirements. You also will play a vital role in the architectural planning of our products and systems, this includes designing & implementing scalable and robust backend architectures that can handle high traffic and support future growth. Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies.
• Collaboration & Mentoring: You will collaborate closely with all development teams and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration. You’ll also communicate with clients to deliver projects, translating business rules into technical implementation, and to fix and improve products.
• Identity, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle - You will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and maintenance. This includes collaborating with cross functional teams, participating in sprint planning, and ensuring timely and quality delivery of features.
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code - Armed with your expertise, you'll translate the design into clean and efficient code. This means implementing logic, algorithms, and functionalities that are optimized for performance and maintainability. Following coding standards and best practices will be key to producing code that is clean, readable, and easily understandable by other developers.
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting - Leveraging your programming skills and knowledge, you will create scripts or leverage existing automation tools to automate these identified tasks. This may involve using scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash, as well as utilizing automation frameworks and tools like Ansible, Chef, or Jenkins.
• Review and debug code - You'll perform thorough testing of your code to identify and fix any issues or bugs. This includes unit testing, integration testing, and potentially collaborating with quality assurance or testing teams to ensure the reliability and functionality of the developed tools and applications.
• Perform validation and verification testing - You'll perform thorough testing of your code to identify and fix any issues or bugs. • Documentation - To ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer you’ll document your code, and development phases and monitor the system. This documentation helps other developers understand and work with the tools and applications you’ve developed.

Work Experience & Education

• Extensive experience minimum 5 years.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Tech skill

• You are very skilled in dynamically typed languages (PHP, Python or Ruby, etc), and MVC web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Laravel (preferably Ruby on Rails
• Experienced in implementing best practices such as clean architecture, solid principles and Unit Testing.
• Expert in Database systems: MySQL, MongoDB and have experience in designing and optimizing database schemas, writing complex queries, and ensuring data integrity
• Familiar with cloud platform (AWS/ gcp)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes is a plus
• Understanding caching and queue
• You know what it takes to develop large and scalable applications.
• You have experience working with complex projects that have many different stakeholders.
• You understand how to effectively manage your code and collaborate with other team members.
• Version control is of utmost importance to you.
• Deep knowledge of Git best practices (fork-pull workflow).
• Knowledge in relational databases (+ being comfortable writing SQL queries and optimization techniques)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs (developing/consuming)
• Has a good sense of UX/DX (this includes knowing what a good API looks like).
