Clear is looking for Bookkeepers (Level 1) who are willing to be trained to successfully join our specialist team of bookkeepers working for Australian clients from a range of industries.
Role and Opportunity
Your new role is to effectively pass the training within the given timeframe and be able to provide outstanding bookkeeping services to help our clients manage their financial affairs.
Purpose
As a Bookkeeper, you will:
- Record financial transactions through our clients’ bookkeeping systems
- Assist the supervisors or managers in producing financial reports
- Process financial documents as needed by the clients.
As a Bookkeeper, your daily tasks may include:
- Record financial transactions and complete the posting process to Xero and other cloud-based bookkeeping systems
- Review account codes and re-coding of transactions
- Process purchase and sales invoices
- Verify that invoices and transactions comply with Purchase Orders
- Process authorised payment to suppliers’ invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Reconcile bank transactions, general ledger accounts, and other accounts
- Review and balance the Balance Sheet and P&L account codes
- Encode and post journal entries for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Complete year-end GST reconciliation with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) lodgement documentation
- Prepare and lodge Business (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) to the ATO
- Process payroll, including payroll file payment and bank uploads
- Process expense claims and reimbursements
- Reconcile payroll and superannuation accounts
- Assist with the month-end accounting process, including Payroll and Accounts Payable journals
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and pay payroll tax returns (monthly) and reconciliation on an annual basis
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as requested by the client and/or management.
- Perform other tasks as required by the client and the management
Minimum Qualifications
Required Attributes
- Good English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proactive mindset, can work independently but collaborates well with a team
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexibility to perform relevant admin tasks as required by clients.
Essential Experience
- An accounting degree or any finance-related course graduate, FRESH GRADS are welcome to apply
- Experience in using MS Office, proficient in MS Excel
- Working knowledge of the generally accepted accounting/bookkeeping principles and procedures

Advantageous (Optional)
- Having 1 year of experience in an accounting role
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
- Clear neutral accent
